Privacy Policy
Data collection
LinkEffekt does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app does not require an account, login, or registration.
Local network (LAN)
LinkEffekt uses Ableton Link Audio to stream audio over your local network. This communication is peer-to-peer within your local network only. No data is sent to external servers.
Online mode (version 2.0 and later)
The optional Online mode streams audio over the internet between you and your peer. Audio is transmitted peer-to-peer and encrypted end-to-end (DTLS). It is never stored, and it never passes through our servers in readable form:
- A signaling server relays only the connection handshake (room code, connection offers, display names you enter). Rooms are temporary; empty rooms are deleted automatically.
- If a direct peer-to-peer connection is not possible, an encrypted relay (TURN) forwards the still-encrypted audio stream without being able to read or store it.
- No audio recordings, no listening history, and no message contents are retained.
Analytics
LinkEffekt does not include any analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks.
Purchases
The Unlimited Channels purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal payment information.
Local storage
LinkEffekt stores your plugin settings (channel name, preferences) locally on your device using standard iOS/macOS mechanisms (UserDefaults within an App Group). This data never leaves your device.
Diagnostics
The plugins keep a timing log on your device (buffer, latency, connection state) to help with support. It contains no audio and no project content, and it never leaves your device on its own: only you can send it, with Share diagnostics in the LinkEffekt app. From version 2.0.4 the log is encrypted so that only LinkEffekt support can read it, shows channel names only as short codes, and keeps the last seven days.
